Famsgiving

So, you've probably heard of the recent trend known as "Friendsgiving" that has become popular among Millennials, like my wife and I. However, this year we decided to go against the grain a little and, instead of spending this holiday of questionable origins with our friends (as the name implies), we decided to go back to my parents' house for something I'm calling "Famsgiving".

Dad got to use his new Traeger grill on the turkey, which automatically made it delicious, and Mom outdid herself (as she does every year) with stuffing, yams, veggies, mashed potatoes, and Martinelli's sparkling cider. Since I'm a man now (see the moustache pictured above), I got to eat one of the Henry VIII turkey legs, and I gotta say, I couldn't really finish it. But it was a good experience to have.

We were joined by my cuñado Jesús, and a grand time was had by all.
After dinner and a pumpkin cheesecake(!), we played some games* and quietly slipped into a delectable food coma, or as they say in México, "El Mal del Puerco", which can be understood as "The Curse of the Pig", because they just eat and sleep.
Anyway, "Famsgiving" was a great success, and we'll definitely be repeating it next year. I really hope it catches on.

*It really doesn't matter who won (Jesús), but I lost pretty atrociously.
